Clonburris is a planned new urban neighbourhood in South Dublin. Spanning 280 hectares, Clonburris is located on the Dublin-Kildare railway line and Grand Canal, 12km from the city centre or a 12-minute train journey to Heuston Station. Situated between Lucan, Clondalkin, Adamstown and Liffey Valley, Clonburris is less than 10-minute drive from the M50, N7 and N4.
When complete, Clonburris will deliver more than 9,000 new homes for 23,000 people with retail and commercial hubs. There will be 8 schools and all residents will live within walking distance of vibrant village centres, major urban parks and high quality public transport. Sustainability at Clonburris will be underpinned by a network of green infrastructure, sustainable urban drainage, high quality pedestrian and cyclist routes and the DART Expansion Plan which will see existing rail services through Fonthill and (soon to be opened) Kishoge stations upgraded to provide electrified, faster, more reliable and user-friendly rail connection with increased train frequencies and carrying capacity by 2027.
Clonburris is a Strategic Development Zone (SDZ), with an adopted Planning Scheme and has been approved for €176m in Urban Regeneration and Development funding
